Message	people were happy with the results of running without the shield after the cone filters pushed the shield too far forward blocking the air intake excessively. That was the situation I found myself in. However, if only to avoid having my filters exposed to the crap that can fly through the intake (debris, bugs, rain e.g.) I opted for trimming back the Selin elbows and fabbing a metal air guide based on the OEM one. Came out great.
