I think you are looking at a hose to the carbon canister. (this link has pictures that you can compare to what you are looking at to see if it is the same hose, about halfway down the page - [ http://www.twinturbo.info/63104/6901.html ]) There are also plenty of write-ups here on the site.
[ http://twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/tech/plenum/plenum.aspx ] One thing you can bet on is that many others have taken pictures and documented work they have done. So doing a search, even on Google, will likely give you plenty of pictures of the engine bay and motor (in and out of the car) for reference to find hoses.
