Message As posted in general, my timing belt broke a little over a week ago. I had an old belt sitting around, so I re-timed the motor and did a compression check. I had good compression on all cylinders so ordered a new 120k kit and installed it this weekend. It fired right up, and runs just like it did but now there is a lot of lifter noise. It sounds like a BMW motor. To be honest, it sounds a lot like when people fire up a new build. I haven't driven it a lot yet, I'm hoping the lifters will re-inflate. I'm curious if anyone else has had a similar experience.
