Because it loos like the lesson of the day is don't use cheap knockoff aerocatch latches. REAL hoodpins would have been fine, real aerocatches would have been fine, chances are an OEM type latch on the carbon hood would've torn through and had the same result. I'm glad it looks like this was on the way back from the camping trip though, at least is looks like you guys had a good weekend.
