I've been playing with my exhaust over the years. I got a cheap top speed exh because my stock stuff was rotting out. It was fun for a bit but annoying for daily use. I installed a turbo-back exhaust on a Mazdaspeed 3 and he didn't want the stock exhaust. It had 2 hefty 2.5" inline resonators on it so I cut them out and installed them in my X-pipe. They were so big I actually had to convert it into an H-pipe. It's much more tame now, almost too tame. I think I'm going to build mufflerless axle back sections for the days that I feel like being a little louder.
