Message Basically long story short. I had a 40k JDM engine put in my 95' TT. Got the car back. Test drove it, the timing on the turbo's was to high, as it made a noise like a bunch of bolts where inside the turbo when boosting at 10-14 psi. The car overheated. Smoke was coming out of engine bay. Took it back to mechanic. They fixed the turbo timing, said the overheating was bullshit and it didnt overheat and that it was just a temp gauge problem. 2 weeks later the car overheated again on the highway, took it back, they replaced some radiator hoses, said it was fixed and wasnt overheating, got back on the high way week later, it overheated. Pulled over, let the car cool down, started to drive again, I could smell coolant, and then all of a sudden the car shut down. Tried to start car, white smoke came out. Took it back to the shop, head gasket blew. I was then refused warranty and am having to pay 2k to fix the head gasket problem.

Now what was causing the overheating? It always overheated on the highway. Was it because of a bad head gasket in the first place which could have been ruptured because of the high timing on the turbos? The mechanic is a asshole (z-fever in tampa) and refuses to tell me why it overheated (he says its because of my driving and thats bullshit because i drove the car just for 10 days and didnt race it either) and just says he doesnt know why its overheating.

Help is greatly appreciated.
