Message i didnt mean to crack on oem parts in general. Nissan goes hand in hand with quality on many parts. My gates timing belt has though given me no issues, and we have sold them everyday for the past 40 someodd years at napa. Ive worked there since 10th grade of hs, and continue to while in college, and ive NEVER had a complaint. The only broken ones i have seen, are brought in by old farmers who have already gotten 20+ years out of em on their tractors. I know the oems seem to be good. i was just saying that they are not made by nissan. Maybe bando makes a "higher grade" for nissan. But to give you an idea, mr-auto-parts.com sells bando's standard belts for about 5 bucks a pop. As far as the timing belts go though, im not sure who makes oem, but i know nissan tecs with employee discounts, that still buy belts at napa. Ive also put gates drive belts on my moms maxima 120k ago and theyre still not cracking. I also put a timing belt on it 30k ago with no issues, reusing the old drive belts.
