I did a fresh rebuild last year and dropped a valve 500 km into it. i got my new parts and when installing the new valves (i changed the 3 others to be safe) i noticed that the dual spring retainers are sitting higher than the tip of the valves, this makes the lifter press the retainer down before it can make contact with the valve. I checked the already installed heights and they a between 0.0015 inch/0.038mm to 0.0670 inch/1.7018mm the lowest ones being the new valve with the new retainer, it looks like the constant pressing on the retainer is loosening the keepers then tightening them again over and over pounding out the retainer. the bottom of the lifter it roughly half an inch and the biggest part of the retainer hole is rougly 3/8's. has anyone run into this issue?
