Message I've not found any Circuit or Scheme in the 300 that will increase Idle Speed to maintain Battery Voltage..

A few tables exist in the ECU that deal with Engine Temps VS Idle Speed.

The 'Idle Up' that happens as the AC is turned on, is a Simply Binary Bypass that will get more air past the T-Bodies forcing the Engine to Idle Faster, and the Idle Air Control will try and trim it from there..

The 'Cold Start Speed Increase' is a Simple Bi-Metal Strip that is Electrically Heated by way of the Fuel Pump Power Line, to slowly choke down an 'Air Bypass' ( This one is referred to as the Air Regulator ) and will allow a fast cold start, then as the Air Regulator Warms up by Electric Heat, it will allow the Engine to settle down the the IAC Controlled Engine RPM..

I Blocked of the Air Regulator, by putting a 'Plug' inside the Black 5/8 Hose that feeds the Crossover tube from the Back.. My Air Regulator would stick Open, and I'd get really high idles most of the Time.. The IAC ( if Adjusted Properly with the Manual Bypass Screw ) can Adjust the Cold RPM up high enough for a Proper Warm up and a 'No Die' drop to Idle when cold if the Air Regulator is Removed or Bypassed..

There are a Few Write ups about removing the Air Regulator.. I'm in The Peoples Republic of Kalifornia, so I have to Pass underhood and Tailpipe Smog Checks, and my Air Regulator is Still hooked up and Visible for Inspection..

Check the IAC Setting Procedure to see if you might have the 'Bypass Screw ' closed too far, and the IAC might not be able to maintain requested engine RPM?..

I always pass, and last Smog check ( Not on Rollers ) for my HC was 6 at Idle and 8 at Running.. So my little Beastie runs fairly well..
