Message '19/'20 my original compressor froze. I replaced it with a Four Seasons unit from NAPA and went thru 4 of them before giving up. The first one leaked oil as soon as I installed it, they sent another one and it was leaking in the box. They sent another one that lasted lasted a month before leaking oil, then the sent a brand new unit (whatever that meant) and that lasted less than a year. Most auto stores carry Four Seasons rebuilds, you can always tell by reading the data sheet before ordering. I would staty away from them.
I did research and found Buy Auto Parts (BAP) had what was branded as OEM with a 5 year warranty and it was new, still sealed as you would expect from an OEM part. I am still running that unit.
I have a significant supply of R-12 and that is what I charged the system with. While I was at it I replaced the condenser and all seals with R134 rated.
The compressor was rated for both.
