Take a Cord, like 1.4 or 3/16 Utility Rope ( Cotton ) and string in about 3 to 5 feet into a Cylinder through the Spark Plug Hole, and with the Piston coming up on Compression Stroke. After you get the Cord into the Spark plug hole ( Please leave a Tail out the Plug Hole!!!) then you can Twist the Crank and force the Piston to wad the Cord up into the Combustion Chamber against closed Valves.. You are creating a 'Rope Lock' to lock up the Piston. After you have the Nut Tightened, back the Piston Down, and Pull the Rope back out the Hole.. Anything smaller than 3/16 might twist up into a Knot, and then you will be screwed trying to get it back out.. Anything Larger than about 1/4 inch might not get into the Plug Hole without Fighting it.. This is also a way to hold the Valves Up while you Pull the Keepers, and Change the Springs or Valve Seals..
