Message	Lasting only a year sounds exactly right for an offbrand unit. If you're going to try a new starter, I recommend the Nissan remanufactured one, but you need to send in an genuine Nissan core. If you don't have one, then I'd look at the Denso unit which is cheaper and accepts non-nissan cores. La-Z-Link
