Been a long time folks. My original pride and joy took a back seat to my 3+ yr old; she has now taken that title. Car was in the hill country under the supervision of my family who was kind enough to hold it up in their metal barn and turn it over every couple of weeks (on tender, seafoam/stabil). Last few weeks it would crank over but engine wouldn't start so drove out to diagnose. Put key into accessory and didn't hear the typical "whirrrr" from the fuel prime. Pulled the line and into a bucket and primed again: spat out maybe a couple of ounces of fuel...but didn't seem like what I seem to recall years ago (parallels abound with my youth here...) with a lot of pressure. Also went ahead and drained the tanks and swapped out with new fuel. So, now I'm on a mission to overhaul fuel system; was reading lots of posts about bypassing the FPCU. My plan was to: 1) remove the stock fuel damper and fuel regulator 2) install a tomei-L (large diaphragm helps with pulsations?) FPR 3) change out the fuel pump to a DW200 (or DW300?). I read the impeller design of the DW200/300/Walbro 48X+ offers a more consistent steady flow as opposed to gerotor-star pump. I have 530bb and 515cc, and was nervous about going too high in amperage. Any feedback from the wise crowd? Thanks, Evan!
