Yeah, replace the fluid. Maybe use some half-decent redline fluid. I forget what the spec is. That and make sure the clutch is releasing all the way, people online say 1/2" is how far the slave cylinder moves the clutch fork on it's pivot.
A quick and dirty way to check if the clutch is releasing is to put the car on 4 stands and run it with the clutch depressed and the shifter in 4th/5th and if the wheels spin up to the 15/20mph that that rpm in those gears would give, then you might want to bleed the clutch.
But otherwise it's probably just worn TF out. And you should probably just ignore it while you save for a low mileage trans/rebuild.
