It has been some time, and with this time I've done more tests and I have gotten a vacuum pump. I vacuumed everything out, and reinserted Freon back into the system (am not scaling the freon with exact measurements). It was able to hold vacuum for an extended period time and I don't believe anymore leaks are present.I'm wondering if it could be my expansion valve. My Z is a 1994 model that came with r134a as stock. I've opened up the EVAP box and the hissing sound did become more prominent but I can't tell if it's exactly there. But I noticed that soon after engaging the compressor (observing with the blower motor resistor out screwed off the EVAP box), the line connected to the expansion valve would frost and develop Ice around it. A little after is when compressor stalls the belts. Do you think it could be stuck open? Is normal to develop ice? Extra info: it seems to take a hefty amount of freon to actually get the high side to reach anywhere higher then 100psi but by then I assume I'm overcharging.
