The 'Socket' is just a footprint to mount an electronic Device to.. Normally the ROM was soldered to the Main Board.. Not Replaceable.. When you 'Socket' the Board, the Foot Print stays the same and the 'ROM' that goes back into the Socket really does not even know if there is a Socket that its plug into or not.. But you do.. MAKE SURE THE NOTCH GOES BACK IN THE SAME WAY AS YOU PULLED IT OUT FROM.. Elso the ROM will be TOAST.. Usually a small screwdriver on one end then the other to pry it out.. The Socketing Process.
