I ended up soaking it in PB Blaster which was no help. I couldnt find any way to get a grip on it with the transmission in place. Then I had a light bulb. From under the car a poked a tiny hole up above the assembly in the transmission tunnel. I pulled the center console and radio and found the hole. I drilled a small hole, just big enough to get a thin flat head screw driver through and had a helper tap on it from the top after I lined it up underneath the car so the screw driver could pry the cover loose. Took our time and it very slowly wedged it out. Soon as we got it moving it slid right out. I'll just fill the little hole with silicon. Much easier than dropping the tranny to get to it. Figured I would let other now in case they have the same issue.
