If you really wanna get into it you can also run a relative compression test if you have a scan tool capable or oscilloscope to check for a weak cylinder, this test is different from a max compression reading through a regular compression test. Have you tried wiggling through the EGI harness with engine running to see if the condition worsens or improves?
