I ran on 5 cylinders for about a year or so - the car seemed to run fine, but it had a lumpy idle, and while it felt like it pulled decently at lower RPM, I could definitely feel it fall off at the top half of the RMP range. Cuprit was one of the original, old-style injectors sticking.  I could easily hear the inconsistency when listened via screwdriver to the ear. Got a "fresh" new-style swap kit from Bernie, and she's been screaming ever since.
 I also remember Stanky posted about a misfire issue that turned out to be incorrect cam alignment (belt tooth count), IIRC.  Something else to verify.
