So I was out driving for over an hour with no issues for overheating or the gauge reading too hot. Stop to grab some lunch and after starting the car back up the gauge immediately jumps like the engine is overheating/too hot. After driving the gauge goes back to reading at normal operating temp. When I noticed this last week I went ahead and ordered a new gauge sensor, then it did it again to me this morning after a similar excursion. I recently put in a larger radiator, I can't find any leaks and constantly check the fill for coolant and witness no loss. The car has a new water pump and thermostat from a timing service a little over a month ago. I'm down in the south so it's already hot. Can the engine be hot enough to just make the coolant so hot while it's not moving through the system to cause this?
