Subject	Alternate power source?

Message	I am installing an aftermarket amp and have an issue with getting the remote wire that tells the amp to turn on when the head unit comes on. I believe the issue is its not getting a signal from the smaller of the 2 wiring harnesses that connected to the factory stereo. I want to know is thete an alternate source such as the lighter or clock i can use instead of replacing entire harness?
