I have a set and when my turbos were rebuilt I clocked them wrong so the intake hit onto the heatshield. Proceeded to bash the heatshield with a lump hammer extremely hard rather than remove my turbos as the circlip was hidden on the side tucked away close to the engine. I had expected that they would be cracked or damaged the amount I hammered on them, I removed the heatshields the next time my engine was out and they didn't have a mark on them. They're definitely solid. One thing that I wasn't expecting to see is that the stud holes are threaded right through into the manifold so the stud bottoms out inside. Doesen't look very good from the inside but appears to work
