When you say a smoke test do you mean a boost leak test. I read before it was recommended to fill to only 5psi but a 300z only specialist I know of that has been in the business twenty years says he always does it to the pressure it will be boosted too as intercooler cuffs can seal at 5psi and maybe not at ten, he said in 20 years he has never blown any seals, upto you if you want to risk it or not, a sealed system is obvious from the first squeeze on the trigger. I blast mine with whatevers in the compressor about one hundred psi..just very quickly on the inflator trigger and it works for me, but I don't recommend you do this for obviously reasons Do you still have the stock fuel pressure regulator they increase the pressure with the boost and if that's faulty it would cause it to drop off, for that you could install a gauge to watch it in the cabin, or look for fuel on the vacuum side. There is three different colours of them and by knowing the colour of it you can determine how old it is and if it is likely to be old and damaged. Your plugs could also be fouled and or incorrectly gapped causing them to blow out, the ignition coils could be bad, I have 24 sat here as spares so if you need any to try that I can help.. Air filter could be blocked but unlikely, fuel filter could be partially blocked Turbos could be bad Waste gate springs may be too weak Car could be sensing detonation and going into safety boost Boost controller could be plumbed backwards and the pressure you are getting could be coming from the springs alone Nd maybe the controller isn't setup properly, you said you checked it but could have gone bad I'm not a specialist so don't take my words for gospel but those are the things I would check if it was me. Good luck with it.
