Message If you are checking/adjusting your TPS voltage, it is absolutely essential to reset the the TPS afterwards, as advised on EF&EC-181. This is done by briefly disconnecting the TPS plug after adjustments are complete. This forces the TPS self-learn to reset; failure to do so may result in your car not going into idle mode at all (or at least until the TPS is auto-reset when the car is restarted).

This may be misdiagnosed as a faulty idle switch or TPS, but is due to the self-learn being set to the wrong TPS voltage, which defeats the soft-switch feature. Since in this case the TPS voltage is still within range, the ECU won't fall-back to using the hard-switch and you won't have idle.
