Message	To get air to flow you need the high pressure side and the low pressure side. The rear of the SMICs has adequate room but throw in thicker 4.5" cores and taller then you start having problems. You can vent rearward as long as your vents have a shroud so the air on the frontal face of the tire doesn't disturb the outward air from the sidemount and cause a high pressure point. Something similar to what VAG does on their cars: Do not do this:
