So, there are two primary cables going to the battery, a red (+) and a black (-). Then, there is a 3rd white wire with a black flex plastic jacket. This wire had a ring terminal which I managed to break off. Couple of questions: 1) I think this white wire goes to the positive terminal of the battery. Does that sound right? 2) Is the ring terminal really necessary, or can I strip off some insulation from the white wire and tie the bare wire directly to the battery terminal?
