and could see fuel pressure was still zero when I turned the key and primed the pump. Once I let it crank I could see the fuel pressure slowly rise, then free fall back to zero once I stopped cranking. If I cranked it over long enough it would build enough pressure and start, stumble and then hold correct fuel pressure. I replaced this valve and it solved the problem. This does not sound like your issue though because a bad fuel pressure check valve would not be temperature dependent.
