These substances seem to have recently gained in popularity. They provide luster and impermeability to the paint; and are quite durable compared to waxes and other paint protection products. Many videos celebrating their virtues can be found on YouTube.
The 25 year old paint on the bumpers of my Z is very soft. Gentle polishing with wax causes the red pigment to come off on the microfiber rag. If anyone has experience with these coatings; I would like to know if they could "harden" the surface and prolong the life of the paint on the bumpers.
