Message	alleviate the condition. The into 1st resistance is quite a bit less in the new '98 I recently installed. In the 55,000 mile original OEM tansmission, it is impossible to re-acquire 1st, even if stopped until it warms up. This is mind blowing, because it goes easily into 1st gear before moving the car. Once you have wound 1st, shifted into 2nd and needed to stop or slow down, going back to 1st is NOT possible. Thanks for the article.
