Subject	Springs inside the side mirror housing

Message	I dismantled my side mirrors for a repaint. upon seeing what's inside, i noticed 2 things 1. there are 2 springs inside one of the mirrors. the other mirror doesn't have provision for any spring. See pic, circled red is the mirror that has the springs. 2. one of the 2 springs is dislodged(bottom right), i can try to mimic the other springs position to get it back where it belong, but question is: what purpose do these springs serve? I searched, i got the vague idea they are for not letting mirror glasses to shake? and is there anything to be paid attention to when i assemble the whole mirror?
