Subject	Will a code 34 always put you in safety boost?

Message	I checked the ECU on my car for codes a while ago and it showed codes 34 and one for the CTS. I tested the detonation sensor yesterday and did not get any continuity. The previous owner said that it has a Specialty z chip, so with that chip does it ignore the detonation sensor? Or would the sensor have to be bypassed somewhere? Boost appears to be normal - stock gauge maxes out.
