Message aircraft wiring corrosion. Especially around the washrooms or galleys.
Something to think about while you're at 38K half-way to Brisbane or Tokyo. Or flying anywhere third-world on a local airline.

As for harness replacement, I usually just pull the plenum, de-pin the ECU connector and cabin plug and curse it into place. Unless the car has other needs like turbos, etc. then its engine pull time.
But I don't recommend this if you are ADD or easily frustrated. Or don't take the time to make a legible diagram with some pictures.
I don't consider working on the Z32 to be too bad because it's a nice change from working on aircraft/helicopters.
I've currently got all the projects I can handle, there is a 2000 Rolls Royce on my one hoist right now that an authorized service centre messed up-big time. Beautiful car, but complex and expensive to fix. $3K for O2 sensors - no kidding.
