Now that my battery will soon be in the spare tire well, (with a Stoptech BBK the spare no longer fits) I would like to relocate the plastic coolant recovery tank that obstructs the air flow to the driver's side inter-cooler, to the freed OEM battery location. I will need to acquire a suitable plastic one from another vehicle or have an aluminum one built.
Just wondering if there will be issues regarding the elevated location. The new site is above the radiator and I always see these recovery tanks mounted low. Since the flow of coolant into the recovery tank is pressurized when the hot coolant overwhelms the radiator cap check valve, it would seem that an elevated location would not matter. Re-adsorption will in turn be gravity aided. Any comments will be appreciated. Thanks.
