Message The wiring is usually not the problem either but a good thing to check if you've had work done to the car which had to do with unplugging connectors and especially pulling the engine (which could cause damage to wires).

In most cases the problem is related to a bad speedometer board. Failures are more common in the 90/91 boards but the newer 92+ boards have many failures too. I rebuild speedometer boards so let me know via an email from the address in my profile if you think you could use my help.
