Message The charging systems of many cars are all basically the same. Yes, the posts lock in this forum so if possible try to do suggested steps and post results ASAP.

The posting above by Compirate is a great suggestion. Always test right from the devices in question, in this case the battery and alternator, before trying to figure out if a wire harness connector is the issue. A past posting suggested checking the dash guage battery bulb and bulb check relay - what happened with that?

NOTE - 12v across the battery with engine on or off is not at all normal. Voltage should vary from 11.5v off to 13.6v or higher with engine at normal idle and headlamps ON. You want to make sure the engine has a decent electrical load when testing voltages at idle.
