I am changing the TT to N/A steering pump as I removed HICAS long time ago. As I am with engine out right now due to build, I will take the opportunity to do so. Workshop guy is telling me that he will cut and solder the HICAS outlet from my 1991 TT reservoir which I honestly not sure if will work. I do not like that and prefer to go for the non hicas bottle, BUT asking myself is using his trick will allow me to keep the ATF dash light available, as the TT has the electrical cap checking for fluid. Will that be possible as per your understanding?
In addition, for the pump, should I keep the 3 sleeve belt pulley? or should I use the 4 sleeve from the TT pump? I will use an ATI Damper for the crank and I understand this have 4 sleeves. Not sure what should I do there too. I have both pumps and both 3 and four sleeve belts.
