For the longest of time, I have been blaming the TCA as the culprit responsible for my malfunctioning a/c. I focused on the TCA because I observed and monitored its activation correlated with the lack of cooling. So I grounded pin 42 on the ECU to disable the TCA which removes a ground from this pin when evap temp reaches circa 34F. To my surprise, little or no improvement in cooling occurred. Now I am thinking that perhaps the exp valve is busted and the TCA might indeed be doing its job. Refrigerant level, aux fan and internal auto a/c sensors all pass muster. A filterless car this old needs a cleaning of the evap, this for sure is part of the problem. Coolant access to the heater core needs inspection as well as the door mechanism, particularly the recirculation door.
