Installed a 120k maybe 10k miles ago. Noticed the RTV gasket between the block and thermostat housing was leaking, pulled the timing belt and lower intake manifold to reseal it again. Now reinstalling the timing belt with another NEW tensioner. As soon as I install the bolts/nut on the tensioner the gap closes to about 1.5-2mm. There's no space in the tensioner casting bolt holes to move it to the left(would increase the gap). The belt is tight and all timing marks are correctly set. Any ideas what would cause the gap to close that much on install, and how dafuq do I get it back to 4mm? The only thing I've found online is the opposite issue of the gap being too far out and having to clamp it down.
