Subject	Does an AC recharge require a vacuum?

Message	I took my Z to a local shop to add r12 to the AC system. It occurred to me the guy didn't connect a vacuum to the gauges. He just started the car and connected two cans I had. Did I just waste two cans of R12 gold? If I would have known addiction was this expensive I would have seen a shrink a long time ago. --BadZCar (FL)
