What about polishing pistons? Initial thought is you want some oil to cling to piston to cushion against cylinder wall, light sand blast would give more "tooth" for oil to cling to, as opposed to polishing with less reciprocating mass with no oil on piston. Swain coating probably the best approach. Anybody out there tried King bearings in a ZG30DE? Local speed shop swears by them for domestic engines. I KNOW, OEM is THE way to go for every body here, but these look like very high quality bearings. If I recondition rods and line hone the block, I can get around the weird Nissan method of bearing sizes. I know this way overkill for a 20+ year old, but I want the best I can do with what I have.
