Subject	Ideas for cleaning inside of intake runners?

Message	I have the upper intake off the car and the inside of the runners seem dirty and somewhat gritty. Suggestons on what people have used to clean them? I tried brake cleaner and shop towels but can't reach fully thru the runners.
