Message	fluids dripping all over the original ones will eat them away. I had that same problem, my steering wheel was off center, when I disassembled the steering rack I found the driver side bushing to be pretty much gone. Without the bushings the whole rack will shift left and right, it can cause your steering wheel to be off center.
