Subject	Any way to measure how much heads were decked?

Message	I dropped my motor off at the machine shop. I indicated to the machinist that the heads have been decked in the past but I don't know how much. He showed me a wear bar on the bottom of the head and asked me to have a look in my FSM to see if there is a spec for this so he can measure depth of the impression to see how much the head has been shaved. The wear bar is a shaved part right by the 40P. I couldn't find anything in the FSM about this wear bar. Anyone have any input? It looks like the only way to tell would be to measure the height of the head to the camshaft centre (EM-54 in the FSM).
