Depends what you mean by slop. How/when do you feel slop? Is it up front or in the back? For me I felt a ton of slop in the back, anytime I would go over a bump or where two sections of highway came together, my back end would get squirmy. There was plenty of play before the suspension actually take over. I also experience awful wheel hop. I'm still not 100% sure what the cause of all this is, I'm just about finished replacing my subframe and diff bushings so I'll have to let you know when I get it all back together. I also had to do my hicas inner tie rods as well as the ball joints which were completely shot. My issue could also be related to bad struts or even just the old rubber bushings on the strut itself...but we'll see! It could be any number of reasons, just like your issue.
