Message You don't mention if you just added all the fuel system upgrades or if it was running fine prior to adding the gauge.

Either way, your wording leads me to believe you may have installed the fuel pressure gauge in the wrong spot, or plumbed the fuel system incorrectly.

The regulator maintains upstream pressure by bleeding off excess. Therefore, your plumbing should be:

Pump
Filter
Pulse Dampener (if installed)
Gauge
Fuel Rail
Pressure Regulator
Return to tank

If it is plumbed how it sounds (Pump, filter, FPR, Gauge, fuel rail, return) then you are not getting fuel pressure to your injectors.

Black smoke is excess fuel. If you just installed the injectors perhaps pinched injector oring is leaking fuel into some cylinders?
