I have a '96 TT that I've pulled the engine on to upgrade turbos (Garrett 530BB's), install 615cc NISMO injectors and MSP exhaust manifolds along with replacement of all hoses. I'm replacing the engine harness with a '95 and the ECU with an Haltech unit. Also replacing the cams and retrofitting the VVT. The heads are going to be ported and a good valve job done. I'm shooting for about 550 RWHP. Budget isn't an issue, but I don't want to just waste money either. I'm more concerned with reliability than max power. Is it worth the money for a complete machining/rebuild with new rods/pistons?
