On my 91 NA 2+2 - yesterday I suddenly found the PS difficult to turn, at all speeds, though it also seems 'notchy'. Fluid level was approx correct, but I did (hopefully) add a little, which made no difference. No sign of leaks, belt is turning the pump and I do get a chirp/squeal when hitting the stops on either left or right side (it did that before the problem started too). No odd noises either that I've noticed. Any tips on what the most likely problem is? I did search, I doubt its anything that adjusts the system due to speed input as it is difficult at idle / low speed on up. It is much easier to turn when idling on the driveway than when the engine is not running though, so its not total failure. I'd rather not start randomly replacing parts due to cost and time contraints!! thx.
