Message	to the floor. If you have the switches flush with the threaded nut and the pedal is just closing the switches without putting pressure on the pedal, then it sounds like you have the adjustment correct. Looks like you're going to have to pull the transmission and find out what's going on. If you had the rod adjusted too far out so that it was putting pressure on the pedal, you might have burned up the disk.
