Subject	Stock Muffler Question

Message	As many of you have seen firsthand (I'm sure) the stock mufflers begin to rust on the exterior, and that thin sheet of metal begins to pull back from the muffler housing. That thin layer of metal that wraps around the muffler is used for sound deadening, or heat shielding, neither, both.....? Thanks for any input
