the basic issue is that in the 90-93 cars in the USA the body B pillar area is 2 layers of metal while the 94+ is 3 layers PLUS the tacked in trapped nut. The basic idea would be that you would want a plate w. a nut welded on it that was large enough to tack weld into place at several places so it could distribute the load of the belts. Also on the 93 car I worked on it required looping the wires from the 2 sensor connectors in the doors from the 90-93 seat belt units to have the belt light not stay illuminated. I never tried to use the 94+ seat belt control unit. The problem I have with the old FAQ on this is that it can be summed up as " drill some hole and slap it in" but it really doesn't address a lot of the bigger details.
